Islamic World, Central Asia, Shaybanid Empire Dynasty (1501 to 1599 CE), Tanka(C)
The Shaybanid dynasty were an Uzbek people from Central Asia who could claim direct descent to Genghis Khan. The dynasty is named after Muhammad Shaybani (1500 to 1510 CE), who ended the Timurid dynasty, conquering the great cities of Samarkand, Herat, Balkh and Bukhara. The dynasty continued to rule over the region in the name of several Khanates. One of these, the Khanate of Sibir, was deposed by the Russians in 1598, the family taken to Moscow as prisoners, where they eventually assumed the surname of Sibirsky, founding a noble Russian aristocratic house.
