Authentic Spanish Silver, Treasure of the Rimac River (budget box)
This genuine Spanish silver treasure coin was recovered from the Rimac, a river in Lima, Peru. No one knows how so many silver coins wound up at the bottom of that river, but the prevailing theory is that the silver was tossed over the nearby Puente de Santa Rosa Bridge. It was a local custom for newlyweds to throw silver coins into the river for good luck.
